Fulfil the IB CAS Requirement through an Experience Quest Expedition

Expeditions with Experience Quest provide International Baccalaureate students a unique opportunity to fulfil their CAS requirement. CAS aims for students to actively learn from the experience of doing real tasks, beyond the confines of a classroom, to enhance their personal and interpersonal, social and civic development. A Quest expedition combines all three elements of this requirement:

Creativity in planning fundraising events and developing resources for use during the project.

Action in the physical activities undertaken during the expedition and in the physical preparation needed prior to departure.

Service through the completion of a worthwhile and beneficial volunteer project.

The core aims and requirements of Creativity, Action & Service run in parallel with aims of an Experience Quest expedition.

• Real, purposeful activities, with significant outcomes - Whether completing the construction of a school classroom, summiting a mountain or learning to work together as an effective team, an Experience Quest expedition provides your students with a range of worthwhile and inspirational challenges.

• Personal challenge - tasks must extend the student and be achievable in scope -Expeditions are designed to challenge and inspire and are tailored to the needs of your students. Your students will push themselves throughout the expedition; physically during treks and other activities, emotionally at the project sites and culturally as they immerse themselves in new environments.

• Thoughtful consideration, such as planning, reviewing progress and reporting - Your students will be guided through all aspects of pre-departure preparation, both mental and physical with 2 training weekends and guidance on fundraising ventures.

• Reflection on outcomes and personal learning - We hold a debriefing session with your students on their return home to encourage them to reflect on what they have achieved, the skills they have learnt and how these can be applied to their later lives at university and work.
